This Thursday and Saturday (the 9th and 11th) will see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s production of Afghanistan: Requiem for a Generation being performed for the first time in Toronto. Created and written by Riel: Heart of the North’s librettist and curator, Suzanne Steele, and composed by Jeffrey Ryan, Requiem for a Generation has been described as a “powerful and haunting work” written to honour the experiences of those who have lived through war. Featuring the voices soprano Measha Bruggergosman, the Toronto Children’s Chorus, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Afghanistan: Requiem for a Generation is a timely and relevant piece of work as we approach Remembrance Day.
Afghanistan: Requiem for a Generation will be performed at the Roy Thompson Hall on November 9th and 11th, 2017. To purchase tickets, or to view more information on the programme, please click here: https://www.tso.ca/concert/afghanistan-requiem-generation
