Thank you Matthew Parsons of CBC – North by Northwest for taking interest in this new work on Louis Riel, Li Keur (Riel’s Heart of the North). It was a great pleasure stopping by and having a good old yack with you in Vancouver today.
I would like to add the names of our St. Laurent translators to those mentioned in the broadcast: Jules Chartrand, Lorraine Coutu, Agathe Chartrand, Patsy Millar, and June Bruce. Maarsi to all of these fabulous people, and to Madame deMontigny of Brandon, MB, and Debra and Donna Beach/Ducharme of Ebb and Flow First Nations.
We can’t wait for these good people to hear this work come to life after so very long.
I should also like to alert folks to another project/exhibit that the Métis artist Corinna Wollf-Borgo and I are participating in and that opens this week. Make Believe: The Secret Library Of M. Prud’homme is a fantastic touring exhibition and series of programs that will delight and challenge viewers. This is its final stop on a national tour. Do drop by and see us. The question is: did we or did we not??? Brava Heather and Claire!!
