lovely to spend time with these fine folk from St Laurent this morning. I got stuck in a snow drift on the way home and some fabulous men got me out and walked me through blizzard conditions back to my little cottage on the lake. I had brought my snowshoes with me, extra warm clothing etc. but FORGOT a shovel and some sand!!! I haven’t lived in this climate for 25 years and have forgotten those basics. Marsi to all who helped!

so here’s a post from our composer Neil Weisensel, about his previous opera “Stickboy”, based on poet Shane Koyczan’s libretto about his life. These photos illustrate a read-through workshop with actors and singers and dramaturge. We’ll soon be at this stage as Feb. 3rd I’ll be in Winnipeg to begin this process. Suzanne, the librettist will fly out this Friday and will be in Winnipeg for the weekend to catch Philip Glass’s new symphony, to hear some new music, then off to the Métis community St. Laurent where she hopes to improve her Michif (which is needs LOTS OF HELP!!!).
